After helping families for decades, my aim is to find a way forward that feels appropriate, manageable and meaningful for your family.
Counselling might involve the whole family, several members, or particular individuals at different stages — and everyone doesn't need to agree on the problem, or be ready to talk openly, for us to begin.
As your family gains a clearer understanding of what's happening, our focus can shift to reflect what matters most: emerging concerns, progress made, and the relationships that need particular attention.
I bring a calm, balanced and practical approach, so that everyone feels heard. My goal isn't to assign blame — it's to help your family build greater understanding and find more constructive ways of moving forward together.

Family counselling focuses on relationships, communication and the patterns that may be contributing to conflict or disconnection within a family. It provides a space to better understand what is happening, work through difficulties and strengthen relationships.
Family mediation is more focused on resolving a particular dispute or reaching agreement about specific issues. As an independent mediator, my role is to help those involved have constructive conversations, clarify the issues and explore possible ways forward.
Sometimes it may not be immediately clear which approach is most appropriate. We can discuss your circumstances and determine the best place to begin.

Yes. Family counselling is not limited to parents and children. I work with families at different stages of life, including adult siblings, parents and adult children, extended and blended families, and families navigating ageing, illness, loss, estrangement, cultural differences or significant life transitions.

No. Family difficulties and patterns of communication can develop over many years, but that does not necessarily mean they cannot change. Family counselling can help you understand how these patterns have developed, hear different perspectives and explore more constructive ways of relating. The aim is not to rewrite the past or require everyone to agree about it, but to consider what might be possible going forward.

My role is not to take sides. I aim to provide a balanced and respectful space in which different perspectives can be heard and understood. This does not mean that everyone needs to agree, but it can help family members understand what is happening between them and consider what may need to change.
